A great holiday and Keith was a fantastic host. A stunning area and our son loved the chickens and the splash pool. We loved the sea life centre and the Wellington tunnels in arras. The cottage is a jewel and well equipped. We will be back. Many thanks for your hospitality. Paul, Louise and Callum

Louise Runnacles,

Just arrived home after a splendid week staying at Le petit hameau. Loved every minute of it and can't wait to go back next year.

Carol Tandridge ,

Another brilliant holiday at this great location. Kieth and Keran go out their way to ensure we have a good time. The welcome pack is brilliant especially after a days travelling. Just the thing, so on the first evening we can enjoy relaxing on the patio, nibbling at the baguette, with lovely French butter, sipping the red wine, or sampling the beer., watching the sun set enjoying the peace and quiet.
Gradually the rush of life slows to a far more relaxed pace as we adapt to French village style living. Time to stand and stare, enjoying the fresh air. Empty roads, sleepy villages, yet plenty to see and do. A very memorable time. Might even be tempted back for a third stay....

John and Irene,

Le Tournesol

Thanks to Keith and Keran for a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The fresh flowers, eggs, bread, cheese, butter, beer and wine were an added bonus and very thoughtful. We chose here because we were here to visit a war grave of a relative who fell in Belgium during the First World War, and also to visit the Somme, being in the middle of both made Le Petit Hameau the ideal stay. Keith's knowledge of not only the Somme battlefields but the local history was helpful and fascinating. We would love to return to explore more of the local area. Being surrounded by the wildlife, ducks and chickens was very relaxing. Being cat owners and lovers, having Kitty visit us every day was so lovely. She is very friendly and we will miss her furry presence.
Once again, thank you so much for a wonderful and homely stay.

Elwyn & Rachel - Dorset,

La Maison Longue

Me and my family absolutely loved, it also the pool is great. The ducks are friendly and there's a lot of fun things to do!
P.S. I'd like to say a big thanks to Keith and Keran because I never got a chance - Finn (10 years)
First I'd like to mention IT'S A GREAT PLACE to stay. It deserves 5 stars. Thanks Keith and Keran for getting the pool ready and letting us look after the ducks and chickens. The barn is really useful. I want to come again! - Jake (10 years)
Ditto all the above from Jake and Finn - we've had a fantastic stay; relaxing and tremendous fun. Thank you for the warm welcome, the useful pointers - especially the V1 site! Looking forward to making another visit!!

Abbi, Chris, Jake & Finn,

Le Tournesol

Thank you Keith and Keran for another wonderful stay. The Tournesol made a perfect annexe to La Maison Longue for a family holiday, it gave us a great opportunity to introduce our family to some of the wonderful places around which we discovered previously. You always go the extra mile. Thanks for your advice - the directions to the V1 and launch site were very interesting. Bless you for finishing the pool for the boys, they so appreciated it and loved being in charge of the ducks and chickens. Have no doubt we'll be back.

Hugh & Caro,

La Petite Paquerette

Nous avons passe un agréable séjour. Le gite est comfortable et Keith est au petit soin. Merci beaucoup pour votre accueil.

Evelyne et Michel - France, Bas-Rhin,

Astonishingly fine weather - 29 degrees on 26th. Lovely country and plenty of interesting places to visit. The nearby orchid site particularly rewarding. The Long House very comfortable and spacious and our hosts could not be more helpful and welcoming. A most enjoyable short break in this delightful part of France.

Tim & Vicky, Wiltshire,

Le Tournesol

Many thanks for a wonderful, peaceful week. The welcome pack was most appreciated. The gite is situated centrally and allows for visits to the WW1 and WW2 sites as well as the coasts of the channel (Manche). The weather, after an early downpour and thunderstorm, has been warm and sunny. We are now chilled and war satiated. Will recommend to family and friends. FYI bed very comfortable and shower great.

Tina & Doug - S Wales,

La Maison Longue

Thanks for a great stay. The welcome pack was the best we've ever had anywhere. Fascinating battlefield areas, particularly the Newfoundland memorial site at Beaumont Hamel. We also loved St Valery sur Somme - good food and shops and a lovely walk by the estuary. Amazing quiet roads. Again, many thanks.

Stuart, Claire and Edward,

La Maison Longue

We've had a great short break. The welcome pack is a lovely touch. I'll really miss the fire and just watching the chickens roaming around!!!!
Thanks for a great stay, we hope to be back.

Anita and Jason,

Le Tournesol

Thank you so much - we have had a very restful and enjoyable few days here. The gite is comfortable and perfect for our stay.
We had fun exploring the area - La Couple, Albert (the WW1 museum), Thiepval and St Valery Sur Somme.
ps. Going to drop into Les Halles de Quercamps (1 hour north) on our way to Calais - our favourite wine shop! Well worth a visit - closed Sunday & Monday.

Sue & Charles - Oxfordshire,

La Petite Paquerette

Had a wonderful, comfortable stay here. Warm welcome and great information on the area from Keith, especially relating to the war. We will definitely be back.

Maxine and Graham - Surrey,

La Maison Longue

We are at the end of our short Easter break and what a fab few days we've had. The weather has been kind to us, allowing us a few beach days! St Crotoy and St Valerie were lovely to visit - especially on a little steam train.
We also visited Touquet on the coast and found a fab little (not hidden) town - Paris-by-sea they call it.
Lille was a great place to get a 'city' feel and architecture.
What I'm sad not to have done was all the war memorial routes and remembrance spaces; a 2 and a 5 year old are to blame!!
The Maison Longue has been a fabulous space to hang out in. Think the TV was turned on twice as the kids have discovered some great board games. Visits to the friendly chickens were also a great distraction.
Thank you so much for the warmest possible welcome. I'm planning our return stay...soon. Maybe no kids next time :o)
ps. Every message left mentions the welcome it would be rude not to! It was fabulous...I'm taking the butter home...I don't care if it melts. Too good!!

Caroline - Kent, UK,

La Petite Paquerette

Thanks for a lovely week of peace and quiet. A great location for visiting various sites around the area where there is a lot of local/recent history. Had a great time, also had too much food and wine - what a problem to have!! Thanks and see you again soon.

La Maison Longue

Just to say that we have had a very enjoyable relaxing week here at La Maison Longue. The accommodation is very comfortable, we had plenty of wood for the fire and the welcome pack was very welcoming. The eggs are clearly from happy hens.
we managed to do a variety of things every day in a leisurely fashion. Thank you
ps many thanks for the pure indulgence of watching some french TV - a cultural delight

Martin & Jo,

La Maison Longue

Lovely cottage. Well equipped. Welcome pack great. Visited The Somme. Great knowledge and help from Keith. Enjoyed our time here.

Diane & Les,

Le Tournesol

We've had a relaxing break - the weather being particularly good to us. Brilliant sunshine all week.
We've managed to cram a lot into one week with visits to Agincourt, Beaumont Hamel, Thiepval, Warlin Court, St valery-sur-Somme, Arras Wellington tunnels and La Coupole and the WW1 museum at Albert! Would highly recommend La Coupole and the Wellington tunnels - both really interesting and well documented.
Will definitely be back to Pas de Calais and to Le Petit Hameau.
Thanks Keith for your insider knowledge.

Jim and Maureen (Kent, England),

La Petite Paquerette

We have just enjoyed a really lovely short break here and just wish we could stay longer! The gite is delightful and really welcoming after taking a long walk in the surrounding countryside. It is our first stay in this area and we shall certainly return as there are so many more things we would like see and do. Everything was just great.....thanks!

Colin and Lesley (Whitstable, Kent),

La Petite Paquerette

Wanted a short break in the countryside and this fitted the bill perfectly. The Petite Paquarette was immaculate, had everything we needed and was picturesque with its beams and the wonderful log burner. The welcome pack, the bikes and games available in the barn and the warm welcome from Keith and Keran were a bonus and they deserve to make a big success of their gites business. Recommended!

John and Jane Naylor,

Le Tournesol

A lovely short break. Lovely weather and scenery. Great to have a welcome pack and comfy bed. This trip has only made us more determined to move to France ourselves within the next couple of years!

Peter & Pauline (Kent),

La Maison Longue

The generous welcome pack set the tone for our best gite yet! We have so enjoyed the wonderful walks (especially the Ravine), the runs and cycle ride around the local area. Delightful trips to Amiens (and boat trip round the hortillonnages), the coast with unexpected amazing weather, blue skies and sun! Visited Le Meillard where there are five 'petit chateau' in one street and the delightful village of Bernatre. Thank you so much Keith and Keran for a fabulous week.

Hugh and Caro - UK,

La Petite Paquerette:

What a godsend Eurocamp closed on the 19th September otherwise we wouldn't have found this gem of a place. As we walked into La Petite Paquerette we went "wow". It is a beautiful gite.
Keith, your knowledge of the area has helped us find our way quickly and your knowledge of the 'boys stuff' (bombs and things) was greatly appreciated by Brewis.
The welcome pack was great, in fact everything was great. We will definitely be back next year.
Our best wishes.
PS loved the cats and chucks

Brewis & Maggie, Doncaster,

Le Tournesol:

Simply Brilliant, we have stopped in many places all over France and this is one of, nope, the best so far, guess where we will be stopping next time. Praise indeed.

Oh, we stayed for a meal at La Clef des Chants. Highly recommend, the guy speaks good English and plays the guitar. 15 minutes drive max.

Gary and Claudia - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire,

La Petite Paquerette

Thank you so much, we have had a really good holiday. Keith has been really helpful, especially with sharing his WW1 and WW2 knowledge. The gite was a pleasure to stay in and we have had great fun with the chickens, etc!
Our recommendations for food include La Belle Epoque in Hesdin (busy and friendly), Manhattan in Hesdin and Le Chaudron d'Auxi in Auxi le Chateau (not busy but great food).
You deserve every success and we hope to return.

Phil & Pauline, Wakefield,

La Maison Longue

We've had a very nice week! We loved the welcome pack and it was very comfortable staying here :o) Thank you!
ps. the fluffy chickens are so cute!

Koppleman - The Netherlands,

Le Tournesol

Lovely greeting from Keran and Keith as we arrived; welcome pack specially tailored for our (gluten free) needs. Wok also provided as we had enquiries about whether one was available.

Met chickens and ducks and made friends...

Two weeks and just scratched the surface of things to visit!!!

Jenny and Bernard - Kent UK,

La Maison Longue

We've had a very happy week here - weather has been kind and the gite is very comfortable - one of the best equipped we've stayed in.
Thank you to Keith and Keran for their help and local knowledge. Hope to come back!
Thank you again.
ps. The 'welcome pack' was brilliant, very comprehensive and much enjoyed.

Karine & Geoff - Dorset,

La Maison Longue

Thank you for letting us share Le Petite Hameau with you and for lending us your bicycles. The walk through the ravine was magical, made even better by seeing a Hen Harrier and we had two rides on the disused railway, not seeing a single soul in either direction. Please thank the hens for their delicious eggs! The motorbike appreciated being under cover too - thank you again.

Maurice and Jean - UK,

La Petite Paquerette

The is a beautiful place to stay. Keith and Keran - thank you for being so welcoming and helpful.
Chickens - I'll miss you!!!
Best wishes Keith and Keran for the continuing success of your gite business, and your ongoing French adventure!

Sarah Read, Stafford,

La Maison Longue

A truly lovely relaxing place, everything we could wish for is here. Great hosts, lots of local knowledge. Brilliant to have a welcome pack on arrival!

Lawson, Leanne and Gabriel,

Le Tournesol

We had a great time. The welcome pack was tops and the housebook very handy. The country view was wonderful and our day trips most enjoyable and informative. This is a beautiful part of the world. Our visit to the traditional French bar at Fortel was a real cack (Australian slang for laugh/experience). We will remember it forever.

Trisha and Dick Wallace - Sydney, Australia,

La Maison Longue

Very comfortable accommodation - nice welcome, we loved the butter, wine, etc! We were surprised at how big the place was - it's called La Maison Longue for a reason!
We enjoyed a long but leisurely bike ride around all of the local villages - great if you want to explore the area, with mostly flat roads and not much traffic at all....
Every evening was made even better by sitting out in the garden, with a hot drink, looking up at the moon/watching the cats play/the chickens wander around. We were offered a swim in the pool, and were given a light to help us see when playing board games after dark. We were also allowed a small fire in a fire pit we brought - recommend toasting marshmallows if you have one too! Plenty of games in the barn for young children, and it's great that they provide some bikes.
Thanks for a great stay.

The Dornings - UK,

La Petite Paquerette

After a disasterous week in a gite prior to coming to Le Petit Hameau, we were just glad to not have a flooded kitchen! However, our stay has surpassed our expectations! The wonderful welcome pack, Keith's excellent local knowledge, the superb 'bread lady', the gorgeous scenery, the animals and beautiful gite has made a wonderful week.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the local area, with particular reference to 'La France profonde', and Chez Jacky, the many Great War sites including the Somme museum in Albert and an excellent meal at La Dent de Loup in Doullens in which the locals bought us champagne.

Our only gripe is that we have to leave! We can certainly see why many others choose to return, and we hope to do so ourselves.

Neil and Dorenda, Yorkshire,

La Maison Longue

Thank you for a wonderful stay and a lovely welcome pack. It was so peaceful and quiet. We all had a relaxing time and Ellie loved the pool. Great weather and the location is perfect!
Thank you again.

Andrea, Mark and Ellie-Mae,

La Petite Paquerette

I can truly say that staying at Le Petit Hameau and in La Petite Paquerette in particular was a very pleasant experience. We were lucky enough to be the first to stay in this lovely gite after its recent refurbishment. Keith and Keran, you did a great job! Very cosy, very comfortable and very functional.

Boffles is a great vantage point for all sorts of outings. We especially liked Amiens and the great beach at Berck.

Keith & Keran, thanks for your hospitality and prompt help when the DVD recorder failed to work. Thanks also for the delicious welcome pack. Goodbye and perhaps 'au revoir'.

Paul and Joyce - Netherlands,

La Maison Longue

Thank you so much. We have enjoyed our holiday so much made up to the fact that the gite is so lovely - one of the very best we have stayed in. The children enjoyed the pool and loved helping with the chickens. We look forward to returning one day soon.

Rogers family - North Wales,

Another absolutely FANTASTIC stay with you. We seemed to do something every single day. For those of you who follow who read these notes, I would suggest visiting St Valery sur Somme (it's the place where William the Conqueror set sail against England); or Le Petit train de la haute Somme (a narrow gauge working railway); and, if you are here for the 'warry' stuff, then the Thiepval memorial is a must. And at the end of a long exploring day, back here to relax and sit in the late evening sun, with a beer, in an idylic setting. We watched the fledgling sparrows setting off on their first journey, away from the rest!
All in all, enjoy!

Richard and Brenda,

Le Tournesol

We have spent a most pleasant 2 weeks here enjoying your hospitality and the gorgeous countryside. In the midst of it all we attended the 100th anniversary commemoration of the Anzac battle of Fromelles.

Your welcome package was most appreciated especially the detailed identification of interesting places to visit in the surrounding districts, and we enjoyed our conversations with you.

We have really enjoyed our time in this peaceful place in this beautiful region. We felt welcomed from before we arrived with all the helpful information that you provided. We enjoyed your hospitality but also felt its warmth and genuineness. We have seen many war cemeteries, beautiful countryside, a glorious chateau garden, the coastal beaches, the battlefields of Crecy and Agincourt and poppies blooming amongst the wheat. We attended a moving ceremony to commemorate the many Australian deaths at Pozieres, amongst whom was my great-uncle. We placed flowers and momentos on William's grave. He would be amazed and gratified that the hell he died in his been transformed into a place of peace, tranquility, fertility and beauty.

A very warm thank you.

Amanda & George - Oakville, Canada,

Le Tournesol

What a brilliant place to stay. Really good for getting away from it all. A pleasant gite in a quiet rural village, we loved it. Kieth and Keran made our stay really enjoyable. The welcome pack is so good we didn't need to go out for a meal on the first evening as originally planned. The chickens are entertaining, and the locals very friendly, welcoming and helpful, putting up with my attempts at French. Roads virtually to ourselves when compared to the UK. Google translate is a useful help. Our first holiday in France, and our first visit for over 20 years. Plans to return are already ongoing.

John & Irene Plant,

Le Tournesol

Keran and Keith, thank you so much for enabling us to complete our mission, to commemorate our relatives at Thiepval, Mirville and Loos - job done.  Hens, cats, countryside, location, accommodation, hospitality.  All the best for the future.  See you again, we will be back.  Thank you.

Cynthia and Brian, Bishop Auckland, Durham,

The flowers and welcome pack were much appreciated. The eggs were delicious! We visited Foucquevillers which has links with Derby and attended the event to mark the centenary of the first day of the Battle of the Somme, where wreaths were laid at the cemetery.
Many thanks to our hosts here.
ps we enjoyed our conversations!

Ruth and Les, Derby,

La Maison Longue

Lovely relaxing stay, excellent welcome pack. Didn't get to try the log burner due to the lovely weather. Easy access to battlefields etc and good supermarkets within a reasonable distance. Thanks for recommending Parc du Marquenterre - lovely day out for nature/wildlife lovers. Thank you for the warm welcome Keith and Keran, I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Kathy & Steve - Leeds,

Le Tournesol:

I loved my stay at Le Petit Hameau! Le Tournesol was very rustic and I loved the original beams running through the building - the history on the site was amazing (be sure to ask the owners!).

It was so very relaxing and I slept better than I have in years - very peaceful and serene. I'm not looking forward to going back to my busy life in London, but looking forward to coming back here for another stay.

Thank you so much!

(South East London)

Le Tournesol:

We were looking for a quiet, peaceful retreat for a few days, away form our busy activity filled retirement and that is exactly what we found at Le Petit Hameau!

Le Tournesol had everything we needed and it was particularly pleasant sitting out the back in the sunshine although the chickens were a little too nosey!!

The gite was generally comfortable and having wi-fi was an additional bonus. The bed resembled the surrounding landscape with its rolling hills and valleys and the noisy, creaking staircase added 'je ne sais quo' in the dead of the night!

Thank you to Keith and Keran for the excellent welcome pack which was much appreciated...and the fresh flowers on the table!

3 nights spent at Le Petit Hameau - a short break for us in order to visit some war graves of distant relatives. We had a relaxing, pleasant stay here. The barn was a hit with our sons (13 and 11), and the log fire was comforting of an evening with a glass of wine. We have travelled extensively, particularly in France and have experienced many gites. This didn't disappoint. It was good value for money and the welcome pack was definitely the best we have received. Merci Beaucoup :-)

We have been looking forward to our trip to France for months - we are both city dwellers and wanted a week to relax, cook and explore. This gite was perfect! The kitchen is well supplied to make cooking easy. Sitting outside with the chickens (even in October!) was a big favourite. This gite is cosy, simple and affordable. The location is simply breath-taking in terms of beauty. We would love to visit again.

ps...Thank you to Keith for the local historical tip-bits of info - we found it all so interesting!

We have had an enjoyable week staying at La Maison Longue and have enjoyed experience the local area. It is true that a car is certainly needed (!) due to our location here, but that is part of the appeal of staying here.

We found La Maison Longue to be very comfortable - we all slept well, felt relaxed there and enjoyed a log fire of an evening. Lots provided to keep us all entertained. Flies could be a bit of a nuisance, but to be expected we supposed. The welcome pack was very welcome on arrival and the barn was a hit!

Thank you for hosting us.

We have enjoyed our little holiday in Boffles Le Petit Hameau. Our cottage was comfortable and contained all the necessaries. We all slept soundly. Our 6 year old son, Micah enjoyed the swing in the barn, swimming in the pool and especially bike riding - as he learnt to ride on 2 wheels in your village streets. We would happily visit again. We also enjoyed exploring the area with day trips.

We have enjoyed a very relaxing time at La Maison Longue - a wonderful week away. Having never holidayed in France before, we weren't sure what to expect. But we found the country side absolutely beautiful. The gite was very comfortable, it truly felt like a home away from home. Our girls (aged 2 and 4) loved the barn, the swings, the garden toys and of course, the hens. I particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surrounding fields. The location is ideal and, to reiterate previous entries, provided the perfect base from which to explore the region.

We can't wait for the next visit, when we can explore more of the Somme region and maybe event take a train to Paris for a day.

We would like to thank Keith and Karen for a lovely weeks holiday. Thank you for the welcome pack and everything you have in the gite for us, including the information booklet, we found this very helpful and we used it every day to help us plan our days out. We also appreciated the basket of leaflets. After a full day out, it was nice to come back to the gite and chill out. It was also nice to have the TV and Wif-Fi.

We have really enjoyed our week in France and would do it again. So once again thank you very much.

Thank you so much for a wonderful week at Le Petit Hameau!

Le Tournesol had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday - we made use of the DVD on the one rainy day and sampled the local produce (red wine and cheese!), but it was also perfectly placed for day trips.

The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely start to the week especially arriving after midnight.

We would love to stay and relax for another week...especially as the sun seems to have come out!

Third time at La Maison Longue and still love it! We have been far and wide this trip, looking up my Grandfather's 'war grave' near Ypres. This was a very moving experience and good to finally pay my respects.

We have had a lovely time here in La Maison Longue. For the first couple of days it was fun keeping the unseasonable cold at bay by lighting the wood-burning stove. The setting is beautiful and we have greatly enjoyed the quiet. We love the chickens and their plaintive little noises The rooms are very comfortable and the gite is very well equipped. We've done lots of travelling in the surrounding area and have had an excellent holiday.

ps....we found Audrey's long lost Uncle Fred in a war cemetery near Roeux!

This is our fifth time at the Petit Hameau, although our first time in this particular gite. We love the local area and find the gite a good base for going slightly further afield. This is a wonderfully peaceful place to stay - a real 'get away from it all' place. Refreshingly simple and rustic. Great to have Wi-Fi if wanting to keep up with 'the rest of the world'. The welcome pack, as always, a very appreciated added extra, but even that exceeded expectations from pervious visits!

We will obviously return some time in the future.

Thank you for a lovely stay, we really appreciated the welcome basket and the local produce - the eggs and bread were fantastic! The gite was very clean and tidy, cooking facilities were great and as we were here over Easter - when things close early - it was nice to cook in and we felt very cosy. The location was great and we found it easy to explore the surrounding areas. The recommendations in the book were good on the whole, but could probably be updated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Le Petit Hameau and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in rural France.
